Concord police reported today that on Jan. 24, 2015, at approximately 12:40 p.m., policebrresponded to Market Basket, located at 80 Storrs Street, for the report of abrtheft.

According to the report: “Upon arrival police were told that the suspect had alreadybrfled from the area.  Police were told bybra Market Basket employee that a female subject had just stolen a pack ofbrcigarettes from the cigarette area that is closed to customers.  The employee recognized the female as thebrsame individual that had stolen cigarettes from the store on a previousbroccasion. 

“A manager exited the store in an attempt to stop the subjectbrat which time he observed her walking on the sidewalk towards Sal’s Pizza.  The manager reported that he asked the femalebrto come back to the store, at which time she ran away.

“The video footage shows a white female with long dark hairbrenter Market Basket and proceeded to the cigarette area that is closed tobrcustomers.  The female can be seenbrgrabbing a pack of cigarettes and putting them in her white shoulder bag.  She is then seen walking over to the liquorbrarea, grabbing a single bottle of Twisted Tea and putting it into herbrpurse.  The female then exits thebrstore.”

In addition, police reviewed video footage from a Jan. 17 theft, which allegedly captures the same female with her hair down entering Market Basket.

“On this occasion she walks over to the liquor area and grabs abrsingle bottle of Twisted Tea.  Once shebrputs the bottle into her purse she walks over to the cigarette area and puts abrpack of cigarettes into the same white shoulder bag.  The footage then shows the female exiting thebrstore without paying for either item,” the report said.

The Concord Police Department has recovered photographs frombrstore security and is asking the public to assist in identifying the individualbrof interest depicted in the photographs.
