NEW DATE, SAME PLACE:Intown Concord’s 41st Annual Market Days Festival, presented by NH Federal Credit Union, returns to historic downtown Concord, New Hampshire, this summer – Thursday, June 25 through Saturday, June 27, 10:00am to 10:00pm daily.

During Market Days, a half-mile of Main Street and side streets are closed to vehicle traffic, transforming downtown Concord into a pedestrian boulevard lined with more than 140 vendors offering a vast array of food and shopping options. The unique festival experience is enhanced by the participation of dozens of downtown businesses that bring their wares out into the street and serve up delicious local food.

The Market Days Festival features seven program areas with some 36 hours of entertainment for all ages. Popular festival attractions include live music and entertainment in Bicentennial and Eagle squares, Free Family Fun activities on the State House Lawn, a beer & hospitality tent, an outdoor movie, community performances, the Concord Arts Market, and much more, including a Krazy Kids play area and Market Days Mini Golf course on City Plaza.

New to the festival for 2015 is a free Touch-a-truck feature, with an assortment of vehicles on display each day at the northern end of the festival. And, as part of the celebration of the City of Concord’s 250th anniversary, members of the Abbot-Downing Historical Society will bring an authentic, beautifully restored Concord Coach to State House Plaza from1:00 to 5:00pm all three days of the festival, weather permitting.

Market Days regularly attracts more than 50,000 attendees over the course of three days, making it central New Hampshire’s biggest free community event of the year.

As of June 25, half of the North Main Street portion of the Main Street Project will be completed, with new sidewalks and paving, granite benches and planters, streetlamps, and more, and the construction crews will take a 3-day break for Market Days before beginning work on the west side of the street. The Market Days Festival will be the perfect opportunity to stand in the middle of Main Street and observe the dramatic difference between the existing streetscape on the west side and the new one on the east, designed for safety, accessibility, and walkability.

“Located in the heart of our vibrant capital city, Market Days is an annual opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate the spirit of Concord,” said Elyssa Paris, president of Intown Concord’s board of directors. “It’s always fun to come downtown, run into our neighbors and friends, and see all of our unique local businesses showcased right on our beloved Main Street! We look forward to the 41st year of bringing this free family event to the city, and invite all to come downtown and celebrate Concord!”

Intown Concord thanks presenting sponsor NH Federal Credit Union and other major sponsors Dunkin’ Donuts, Charter Trust Company, TD Bank, ConvenientMD, and the City of Concord.
